Submissions Due September 20, 2020
The Society for Urban, National and Transnational/Global Anthropology is pleased to announce its annual graduate student paper prize competition. We are seeking student papers that address SUNTA’s interests, including but not limited to transnational social processes, impacts of globalization and migration, urban life and infrastructure, space and place, and poverty and homelessness. The prize includes a cash award of $250. The winner will be announced on the SUNTA listserv in November and announced again publicly at the next AAA meeting. The prize-winning essay may also be considered for publication in City & Society, subject to the peer review process.
Papers should be submitted by email to Christina Schwenkel at firstname.lastname@example.org by September 20, 2020. Authors who are current graduate students or who have graduated within the 2019/20 calendar year are eligible for the competition, as long as the submission was composed before final submission of the dissertation. Letters of recommendation are not required. International entries are encouraged. SUNTA membership is not required.
Papers should be no more than 30 double-spaced pages with standard margins and 12-point font, including bibliography, notes, and images/figures. The paper’s formatting (e.g., citations, bibliographies etc.) should be consistent throughout. Send queries to Christina Schwenkel (email@example.com).
