Leeds Award in Urban Anthropology, 2011 Competition

The Leeds Award is named in honor of the late Anthony Leeds, a distinguished pioneer in urban anthropology. The prize is customarily awarded annually by SUNTA for the most exemplary book of research conducted in urban, national or transnational contexts, with particular attention to methodological innovation. There were 26 books submitted for this prize competition in 2011, some of which were excellent, but none were unanimously deemed by the Leeds Prize selection committee to be so outstanding in terms specifically of methodological innovation as to warrant receiving the Prize.

The Leeds Prize was therefore not awarded in 2011.

Please address all questions concerning the prize to Robert Rotenberg ().
